The Maharashtra Cyber Department has taken significant action following the harassment of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar’s daughter on an online gaming platform. After months of investigation, authorities have made their first arrest in connection with the case.
Kumar’s daughter was playing a video game online, and there was an option to play with strangers. During the game, a person asked Kumar’s daughter, “Where is she from?” In response, she replied, “Mumbai,” and at that time, everything was going normally.
Later, the person asked her if she was male or female. She responded, ” Female, ” and then the accused messaged her, ‘Can you send me a nude picture of yours?’
“My daughter was playing a video game. There are some video games that you can play with someone, you are playing with an unknown stranger. When you are playing, you get a message saying, ‘Thank you, that was great’ or ‘You are doing so good’, very courteous messages,” Akshay Kumar said.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns about online safety and the behavior of users on gaming networks. The identity of the arrested individual hasn’t been disclosed yet, but officials are likely to provide more details soon.
The harassment faced by Kumar’s daughter drew considerable media attention and sparked discussions about protecting minors in digital spaces. Despite this being a high-profile case, many similar incidents occur without public knowledge.
And as investigations continue, it’s clear that law enforcement is taking these threats seriously. Further arrests could follow as they dig deeper into the online activities related to this case.
