Apple’s Pro-series iPhones have traditionally been the centre of attention every September, but that could soon change. Rumours surrounding the company’s first foldable smartphone, widely referred to as the iPhone Ultra, are gaining momentum, with a newly leaked dummy model video offering the clearest glimpse yet of the much-anticipated device.
The latest leak follows the circulation of images showing a white prototype model. The newly surfaced video showcases the handset from multiple angles, revealing what appears to be an ultra-slim design. According to previous reports, the foldable iPhone could measure just 4.5mm when fully unfolded. Another notable detail is the unusual placement of the volume buttons near the top edge of the device, a feature that aligns with earlier leaks. However, since the model is believed to be an early design dummy, the final production version could differ significantly.
Interestingly, high-quality dummy units of the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro have also surfaced online in recent weeks, hinting at the colours Apple may introduce this year. Industry watchers believe more refined prototypes of the foldable iPhone could emerge as its expected launch window approaches.
If current rumours are accurate, the foldable iPhone Ultra will be positioned as Apple’s most premium smartphone yet. It is expected to feature a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch foldable OLED inner screen. Powering the device could be Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro chipset, reportedly based on TSMC’s advanced 2nm process, paired with 12GB of RAM.
The handset is also rumoured to sport a titanium and aluminium frame with a nearly crease-free hinge mechanism. Another notable claim is the possible return of Touch ID, integrated into a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Reports suggest the foldable iPhone could debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup in September 2026, although availability may vary by market. Pricing is expected to start at around $2,000, which could translate to roughly ₹2 lakh in India after taxes and import duties.
As with all pre-launch leaks, Apple has not officially confirmed any details regarding a foldable iPhone, and the final product could differ from current speculation.
