Security agencies were placed on high alert after the office of the Pune Municipal Corporation Mayor received a bomb threat via email at around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The threatening message reportedly warned of bomb attacks in both Pune and Nagpur, prompting immediate action by law enforcement authorities.
Confirming the development, Nagpur Zone-III Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Madane said that a detailed investigation into the threat email is currently underway. Acting swiftly on the alert, Nagpur Police intensified security measures across sensitive locations, including the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters in the Mahal area.
Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) personnel, along with a dog squad, conducted a thorough search of the RSS headquarters and surrounding premises. However, no suspicious objects or explosive materials were found during the operation.
DCP Madane stated that nothing suspicious has emerged in the investigation so far, but as a precautionary measure, extensive security arrangements have been put in place. Police and intelligence agencies are continuing their probe to trace the origin of the email and assess the credibility of the threat.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain calm and assured that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure public safety.
