The area around the Rural Hospital in Seloo has been without functioning streetlights for over six weeks, causing serious inconvenience to patients, their families, and local residents.The problem began after a severe storm in June damaged houses, shops, power lines, and electricity poles.
While the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) restored power within a few days through round-the-clock efforts, the streetlights on the road leading to the hospital have still not been made operational.
Although damaged electricity poles have been replaced, the streetlights remain non-functional, leaving the hospital surroundings in complete darkness every night and raising safety concerns.
Residents who approached the Seloo Nagar Panchayat for a solution were reportedly told that the stretch does not fall under its jurisdiction, leaving the issue unresolved and sparking resentment among locals.
