In line with the appeal of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for maximum use of public transport, a special electric bus service for employees has been launched from the WCL Headquarters to WCL Indora Colony through the joint efforts of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). This initiative is an important step towards environmental protection, fuel conservation, and reducing traffic congestion.
During his interaction, WCL CMD Dr. Hemant Sharad Pande stated that greater use of public transport not only contributes to environmental conservation but also plays a significant role in achieving sustainable development. He urged employees to make maximum use of this facility and reaffirmed WCL’s commitment to promoting such environmentally friendly initiatives in the future.
The bus service was flagged off by WCL General Manager (Mining/PR) Shri S. R. Gabale, Maha Metro Joint General Manager Shri Mahesh Moroney, and NMC Senior Operations Manager Shri Purushottam Nimsarkar, along with senior officials of WCL.
The bus service has been introduced as an additional facility for WCL employees. Efforts are also being made to encourage more employees to join this initiative so that the use of public transport can be promoted on a larger scale.
A large number of senior officials from WCL, Maha Metro, and NMC were present on the occasion.
