The city continued to reel under intense heat on Thursday, with the maximum temperature touching 44°C, nearly four degrees above normal. The scorching conditions kept daytime outdoor activity to a minimum as residents struggled through another hot day.
Nagpur was among the hottest places in Vidarbha, with only Wardha (44.5°C) and Brahmapuri (44.2°C) recording higher temperatures. Several other districts, including Akola (43.4°C) and Yavatmal (43.2°C), also witnessed soaring temperatures.
Despite light rainfall being reported from a few districts such as Bhandara, Brahmapuri, Gadchiroli and Gondia, Nagpur remained dry. The limited pre-monsoon showers in parts of Vidarbha failed to bring any significant relief from the prevailing heat.
