Residents in several localities under the Chinchbhavan command area will face a 12-hour water supply disruption on July 1 as Orange City Water (OCW) undertakes essential infrastructure work.
OCW will install a specialised flow meter on the outlet distribution main of the Bhandewadi Elevated Service Reservoir (ESR). The work is scheduled to begin at 10 am and is expected to be completed by 10 pm, during which water supply will remain suspended in the affected areas.
Localities likely to be impacted include Antuji Nagar, Tulsi Nagar, Abumiya Nagar, Suraj Nagar, Pawanshakti Nagar, Wathoda, Chandmari Parisar, Milan Nagar, Ilaj Nagar, Vaishnodevi Nagar, Dhartima Society, Khandwani Town, Sarju Town and New Pawanshakti Nagar.
According to NMC-OCW officials, the installation of the flow meter is an important step towards strengthening the city’s water distribution monitoring system. The device will enable accurate measurement of water flow, help detect pipeline leakages, minimise water losses and improve the overall efficiency of the supply network.
Regular morning water supply to the affected areas is expected to resume on Thursday.
