The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released a fresh advisory for NEET-PG 2026 aspirants, introducing Aadhaar-based authentication and announcing several changes to the application and examination process.
According to the board, test city allocation will no longer follow a first-come, first-served system. Candidates have been advised not to rush their applications, as the timing of submission will not influence the allotment of the test state, city or examination centre.
While filling out the application form, candidates must choose three preferred test states. The first preference must be the state mentioned as the correspondence address, while the remaining two should be neighbouring states. NBEMS has clarified that the correspondence address must be supported by valid proof and cannot be modified after the application is submitted.
Applicants must upload a recent photograph, taken within the last three months, along with their signature and other required images in the prescribed format. Applications with unclear, edited or non-compliant images may be rejected.
The board has urged candidates to review all information carefully before final submission, as details such as category, PwBD status, date of birth and contact information will not be editable later. The submitted information may also be used during the counselling and admission process.
As part of the new measures, Aadhaar-based authentication will be implemented for NEET-PG 2026. Candidates should provide their Aadhaar details wherever required, ensure their Aadhaar is unlocked before reaching the examination centre, and avoid applying henna, ink, paint or similar substances on their hands, as these may affect biometric verification. If Aadhaar authentication is unsuccessful, alternate methods, including IRIS verification, may be used.
Candidates have also been advised to report to their examination centres well in advance to complete identity verification, biometric checks and security procedures. They should keep their registered mobile number and email ID active throughout the examination and counselling process to receive important updates.
NBEMS has cautioned candidates against sharing personal or examination-related details with unauthorised persons and warned against fraudsters claiming to influence marks or admissions. It also reiterated that candidates should rely only on official NBEMS communication channels for authentic information. The board warned that impersonation, use of unfair means or any examination malpractice could result in cancellation of candidature, debarment and legal action.
Candidates will also be required to submit one of the prescribed documents as valid proof of their correspondence address while applying for NEET-PG 2026.
