A 45-year-old woman has accused her husband of forcing her to convert to Islam more than a decade after their marriage. Based on her complaint, Shanti Nagar Police have registered a case against the accused.
According to police, the woman, a resident of Narendra Nagar, had married the accused as her second husband. She has a daughter from her first marriage. She reportedly came in contact with the Shanti Nagar resident, and the two married over 10 years ago. They have a 10-year-old son and were living together in Narendra Nagar.
Police said that after a recent domestic dispute, the woman approached Shanti Nagar Police Station and alleged that her husband had forcibly converted her to Islam during their marriage.
Based on her complaint, police have registered a case under Section 85 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
