The Vidarbha Association of Medical Microbiologists (VAMM) held its Installation Ceremony on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Prasadam Hall, Pratapnagar, Nagpur, formally inducting its new office bearers for the year 2026–27.
The programme was graced by Dr Ujwal Gajbe, Dean, Datta Meghe Medical College, as the Chief Guest, while Dr Vasant Gawande, Chief Medical Superintendent, DMMC & SMHRC, attended as the Guest of Honour.
The Vidarbha Association of Medical Microbiologists (VAMM) is a professional body dedicated to promoting excellence in Medical Microbiology through academic activities, scientific research, continuing education, and professional collaboration among microbiologists across the region.
As part of the academic programme, distinguished speakers Dr Meena Mishra, Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, AIIMS Nagpur, and Dr Saurabh Shrivastava, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, DMMC, delivered scientific lectures on the theme, “Clinical Microbiology in a Changing World: Pathogens, People and Perspectives.” The sessions highlighted emerging trends, challenges, and innovations shaping the field of clinical microbiology.
During the ceremony, Dr Nandkishor Bankar, Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, DMMC, Nagpur, was installed as the President of VAMM for 2026–27, while Dr Swati Gupta, Assistant Professor, DMMC, Nagpur, assumed office as the Secretary.

· Vice Presidents: Dr Jayant Deshmukh and Dr Ashwini Patil
· Joint Secretary: Dr Swati Lade

The Executive Committee Members for 2026–27 are Dr Vaishali Kolhe, Dr Prashant Patil, Dr Virendra Kolhe, Dr Durgesh Deshmukh, Dr Yogendra Shelke, Dr Priyanka Mategadikar, Dr Sundaram Supare, Dr Pooja Shendre, Dr Nazneen Malak, Dr Ashwini Mankar, and Dr Shital Mahajan.
The outgoing team, led by Dr Dilip Gedam, President VAMM (2025–26), and Dr Apurva Kshirsagar, Secretary VAMM (2025–26), was felicitated and acknowledged for its valuable contributions towards strengthening the association’s academic and professional initiatives during its tenure.
In their address, the newly installed office bearers reaffirmed their commitment to advancing VAMM’s mission through enhanced academic programmes, research collaborations, scientific activities, and professional development opportunities for members. The ceremony concluded with appreciation for the outgoing leadership and best wishes to the incoming team as they embark on their tenure for 2026–27.
