Food safety concerns have once again come under the spotlight after a disturbing video, allegedly from Noida, went viral on social media, triggering outrage and calls for stricter enforcement of hygiene standards in food preparation units.
The video, reportedly recorded at a soya chaap manufacturing unit in Noida’s Sector 27, appears to show workers handling food in highly unhygienic conditions. In the footage, a shirtless worker can be seen rolling over a large batch of soya chaap spread across the floor while others pull him across the mixture.
The video also shows workers moving around barefoot in the preparation area. At one point, water is poured over the shirtless worker as he crawls over the food product lying on the floor. Another worker can reportedly be seen preparing soya chaap in the background without following basic hygiene practices.
Viral Video Triggers Public Anger
The footage has sparked widespread criticism online, with social media users expressing shock over the apparent lack of food safety standards.
Many users questioned the hygiene practices followed at food manufacturing units and tagged food safety authorities, urging them to investigate the matter and conduct stricter inspections of food establishments.
One user wrote, “Food safety is a joke in India.” Another commented, “Now only home-cooked food seems safe. Boycott outside food.” A third user said, “I have never had soya chaap in my life, and after watching this, I never will.” Expressing disgust, another person wrote, “What a sick mentality. This is horrifying.” Several users also stressed the importance of home-cooked meals, arguing that incidents like these erode public confidence in food sold outside.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the viral video. The authenticity of the footage and the exact circumstances under which it was recorded could not be independently verified.
