Three City Cagers for U-19 Basketball Nationals

Three City players Purvi Mahalle, Bhagyashree Kolwadkar and Harshal Marotkar will represent Maharashtra in the U-19 school national basketball championship. The school nationals are being organized by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) at New Delhi from January 3 to 9, 2019.

All the three selected players were picked after a satisfactory performance during U-19 Maharashtra state school basketball championship followed by the selection trials held at the Indian Gymkhana basketball courts in Matunga, Mumbai.
Both Purvi and Bhagyashree were part of the 12-member LAD College team and Harshal was a member of Hislop College team that participated in the state meet. While Purvi practices at the Shivaji Nagar Gymkhana (SNG) courts, Bhagyashree is a member of the Saraswati Kanya Sangh (SKS) and Harshal practices at the Dharampeth Krida Mandal (DKM) courts.
All the three players were congratulated by the president of Nagpur District Basketball Association (NDBA) Sandip Joshi, secretary Bhavesh Kuchanwar, their coaches Shatrughna Gokhale, Arvind Garud, Dhiraj Kadao, CP James and all members of the NDBA.
