Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has created a new record of highest ever Rake Loading, Coal Dispatch and Coal Production on 1st day of 2019. WCL loaded 36 rakes in a day which is ever highest. Similarly, company dispatched record 1,83,000 tonnes of coal to its consumers. WCL produced 2,04,000 tonnes of coal, which is all time record of production in January.

WCL by leveraging Rail-Coal Synergy has started “Rail-Coal Week” from 1st to 7th January as a part of “Coal Dispatch Fortnight” from 1st to 15th January. Rail-Coal Week has started with a bang by loading 36 rakes from the average 27 rakes during December, 2018. This has been possible by joint efforts of Team WCL and excellent support from Central Railways (CR), South East Central Railways (SECR) and South Central Railways (SCR).

Intensive monitoring jointly by Railways and WCL at each siding level in all the Areas of WCL round the clock resulted in achieving a record growth of 33.33% in rake dispatch during “Rail-Coal Week”. Railway officials from the level of Chief Operations Manager (COM) to Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) and WCL officials from top management to Siding In-charge are monitoring placement, loading and movement of rakes for reaching coal to consumers. CR could load record 31 rakes which is highest ever of WCL followed by 4 rakes by SECR and 1 rake by SCR. This has resulted in record supply of 21 rakes in a day to Mahagenco, 2 rakes to MPGenco, 2 rakes to Gujarat Power Houses, 2 rakes to Karnataka, 2 rakes to NTPC and other rakes to different IPPs. WCL had earlier clocked highest 1,75,000 tonnes dispatch of coal on March 24, 2018, which the Company has surpassed on January 1, 2019. Similarly, Company could touch more than 2,00,000 tonnes production in the month of February last year which has been achieved on January, 2019. The highest ever rake dispatch by the Company had been 32 rakes in a day in March, 2018. WCL has already recorded highest ever 15.9% growth in production and 13.4% growth in dispatch during the first three quarters of financial year 2018-19.

“Mission: WCL 2.0” which was introduced in June, 2018 for betterment of fundamentals of the Company, has been a major factor for this remarkable achievement of WCL. With this rate of growth from the beginning of last quarter of current fiscal, Team WCL is confident to not only achieve its target of production and dispatch but also to surpass it by a comfortable margin.
