The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), which is carrying out the work of constructing flyover from RBI Square to Old Katol Naka and upto Nelson Square, has obtained permission from the city traffic police to block the traffic movement on Residency Road, Sadar. A large number of vehicles pass through the road everyday that resulted in slow pace of the work. The NHAI authorities with a view to expedite the work sought a nod from the traffic cops to close the road for vehicular movement.

The stretch has a number of commercial establishments and a number of vehicles are parked on either side of the road. The stretch from Haldiram’s to NMC Clinic will be closed after two days and the traffic will be diverted. Accordingly, the vehicles will be diverted through Mangalwari and Chhaoni. However, the problem of people parking their vehicles on the road haphazardly still poses a big hurdle.
