An office-bearer of AAM Admi Party (AAP) rescued a cuckoo, which was entangled in nylon manja in the city. According to reports, the bird was caught in the glass coated thread on a banyan tree near Bunyadi College in Sakkardara locality for the last three days.
On getting information, Vidarbha region President of AAP Youth Wing, Piyush Aakre rushed to the spot along with Swapnil Bodhane of WORRC. Seeing the bird was on a height, he sought the help of fire brigade personnel. The fire brigade personnel with the help of hydraulic ladder climbed up the tree and rescued the cuckoo.
Bodhane after inspecting the cuckoo’s condition set it free giving it a lease of life.
