Works of nine cement roads under the first phase have not yet begun. Of the 59 road works in the second phase, 39 have been completed while work on 14 roads is in progress. Similarly, works have begun on five packages in the third phase while the work for remaining two would begin in few days.
Hurdles in the works of first phase should be removed and the remaining works in phase two should be completed by August 30, ordered Pravin Datke, Chairman, Special Committee constituted to expedite the works being undertaken by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), State government and Central government on BOT and PPP basis.
A meeting was held at the Panjabrao Deshmukh memorial hall in NMC to review the incomplete and proposed road works. Along with Datke, Chairman; Standing Committee; Virendra Kukreja, Chairman; Civil and Project Committee; Sanjay Bangale, Chairman; Water Works Committee; Pintu Zalke, Additional Commissioner; Ravindra Thakre, Deputy Commissioner; Nitin Kapadnis and Executive Engineer; Manoj Talewar were present at the meeting.
Datke reviewed progress of different works at the meeting, which included cement concrete road phase 1,2 and three, Dik Dispensery, renovation of Isolation Hospital, development of Mokshadham ghat on the grounds of Pune city, developmental works at Gandhisagar, Sonegaon, Sakkardara, Naik and Lendi lakes, work near Kamal Talkies, Orange City Street Project, Budhwar Bazaar Mahal and Sakkardara, Balasaheb Thackeray memorial; Mahal, Shahu Library; Chitnispura, new building of NMC at Town Hall, Mahal clinic, Matoshree Jijau Udyojika Bhavan; Shankar Nagar, cement road junction points, foot road from Jyoti Primary School to Dighori, Ramna Maroti, cement concrete road, fish market etc.
He ordered to convene a meeting with Guardian Minister regarding cement road near Ramna Maroti and foot road from Jyoti Primary School to Dighori. He further instructed the officials to complete the administrative works related to the above mentioned work at the earliest.
