Gujarati Brahm Samaj Mahila Mandal holds haldi-kumkum programme

Shri Nagpur Gujarati Brahm Samaj Mahila Mandal organised a ‘haldi-kumkum’ programme recently.  All the members of the samaj attended the event, which started by reciting a shloka of lord Narayana.

A fancy dress competition and an ‘undhiyu’ cooking competition were organised on the occasion.

The theme of fancy dress competition was ‘haldi-kumkum’, where the pairs had to dress in a yellow and red saree to symbolise ‘haldi –kumkum’. The winning pairs of the competition were Bharti Raval and Nutan Jha, Ashu Vyas and Mitali Joshi, Rajshree Bhatt and Gayatri Joshi.  The winners of ‘Undhiyu’ cooking competition were Geeta Mehta bagged the first prize in the competition, while Nutan Jha and Heena Shukla emerged second and third respectively. The competitions were judged by Urmila Thakkar and Heena Kamdar.

The women also presented ‘ukhane’- a snippet wherein they take their husband’s name in between a poem in a way that it rhymes. All the women took part in the competition with great enthusiasm and high spirits. President, Kirti Joshi, Secretaries Heena Joshi and Hema Mehta along with Neeta Shukla, Volga Thakar, Trupati Joshi, Rajshree Bhatt, Geeta Mehta, Manisha Rajyaguru and Mitali Joshi, worked hard for the success of the event.
