Pune, LNPIE Gwalior record wins

Savitribai Phule Pune University and Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) Gwalior recorded the victories over their opponents in the West  Zone Women’s Cricket Tournament, organised by RTM Nagpur University on Monday.

At Vasant Nagar ground, Pune University recorded four-wicket victory over Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University.  Pune University won the toss and elected to field first. Amravati University scored 88 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 35.1 overs. Bhagyashri Kadu top scored with 16 runs. Mansi Patil and Pradnya Virkar took two wickets each for Pune. In reply, Pune University scored the required 89 runs in 17 overs for the loss of six wickets. Thanks to Rohini Mane who scored match winning 34 runs.

In the second match at Ambedkar College ground, LNIPE Gwalior drubbed University of Mumbai by 101 runs. LNIPE Gwalior won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 207 runs losing seven wickets in 40 overs. Thanks to Apurva who slammed 64 runs. For Mumbai, Darshana and Vidhi got two wickets.

In reply University of Mumbai could only manage to score 106 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 25 overs. Darshana top scored with 42 runs.

On Tuesday S. P. Pune University will play against LNIPE Gwalior at Dr. Ambedkar College Ground while Amravati University will play against University of Mumbai at Dhanwate National College ground.
