Nagpurians can’t carry kharra in metro

The Nagpur Metro is the only green metro of the country. Several measures have been taken to conserve electricity and environment. Now, taking a step further the Nagpur Metro has decided to make it the cleaner metro as well.
The Nagpur Metro has decided to impose a complete ban on tobacco and tobacco mixed products in metro trains. Passengers found with the banned products would be fined.

The commercial run of Nagpur Metro is set to begin soon. The Khapri to Sitabuldi section (13 km) and Lokmanyanagar to Subhashnagar (6 km) commercial run of the metro railway will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi by month-end.

The passengers will get entry on metro stations through QR code and at the time of entry they will be thoroughly checked for safety reasons. If the passengers are found carrying tobacco or tobacco mixed articles then fine will be imposed on them. In case, any passenger fails to pay the fine then penalty will be imposed accordingly.

The steps is taken in view to maintain cleanliness on the metro railway stations and coaches. Nagpur Metro is among country’s fastest completed project and officials said onus is now on every officer to provide safe journey to the passengers.

The officials said that it is also the responsibility of the passengers to maintain cleanliness at the station and in the coaches. The officials appealed the residents that considering the ban on transportation on tobacco and tobacco mixed articles in state they (passengers) help the administration in maintaining cleanliness.
