Workshop on adolescence education held

In a bid to sensitize students about various problems that arise with adolescence, Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Ashti organised a workshop for adolescents recently. Dr Nitin Verma and Dr Nilaja Papalkar, who were working under Rashtriya Bal Swasth Karyakram’ were the resource person The workshop was conducted for boys and girls separately. Both Dr Nitin and Dr Nilaja brief the students about various age-related developments like puberty and physical and psychological changes. They also advised the students to take special care of personal hygiene and diet.

They asked students to stay away from mobile phones and social networking sites. Play lot of outdoor sports and read good books. This will keep you become physically strong and aid in character building and learning moral lessons, they said. Students were also informed about the techniques to control their emotions and why they should pay attention to the advise of their parents and elders.

An awareness campaign was also carried out by the resource persons on mensural cycle for all the girl students of Std VI, Std VII and Std VIII. An interactive session was also organised in which students came forward with several questions and cleared their doubt. Principal Vandana Bisen appreciated the efforts of students and thanked the resources persons.
