Himani, Rutuja shines at National Open Swimming Competition

State Inter-School Swimming Competition from Oct 14 | Nagpur News

In the recently concluded ‘2 National Open Swimming Competition held at Sagara Dam, Hiriyar (Chitradurga) Karnataka where in all 350 competitors from all over the country took part.

City ‘s Himani Fadke U/17, crossed 7.5 km distance in 2 hours and won the 3rd position while Rutuja U/19 claimed 3rd position after completing the race in 2 hr. 53 minute and achieved Bronze medal and in 4 x 1.25 Km relay race Rutuja won gold medal.

Shantanu Thakre in 1 km distance, Aradhya Bomble in 5 Km distance, Rishikesh Batwe in 10 Km distance,  along with Sharayu Fartode, completed the race in the stipulated time and successfully claimed the participation certificates. Prize were distributed at the hand of Swimming Federation of India, President, D. V. Kamath, Gopal V. Thosur, President Karnataka Swimming Association, Kamlesh Nanawati Gen. Secretary Swimming Federation of India, and Satish Kumar, Secretary Karnataka Swimming Association.

All the swimmers from Nagpur were applauded by Satish Dabhade Commissioner Labour and Welfare and, Arun Kapse the Officer Incharge of Kamgar Kalyan Kendra,  Raghuji Nagar, Nagpur.

The swimmers from Shark Aquatic Sporting Association, regularly practice at Ambazari lake under the watchful eyes of NIS Coach, Sanjay Batwe.
