RCNS organises “Statesman-19”

Mega Debate Competition “Statesman-19”was organized by Rotary Club of Nagpur South (RCNS) in partnership with The Institution of Engineers (India), Nagpur chapter under the leadership of Director, Young Generation Rtn. Deoyani Shirkhedkar.

The topic for the debate was: ‘The Present Education System incapable of inculcating Social Responsibility’.

In all 28 teams (one participant speaking for and one against the motion) from various Rotaract Clubs, Nagpur participated. The competition was accomplished in two rounds. The first round was conducted on March 1 at Department of Economics, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. Nine Teams qualified for the Finals held on March 2, 2019, Final round was conducted at the Auditorium of The Institution of Engineers (India), Nagpur Local Chapter, North Ambazari Road, Nagpur.

Rotarian (Former President) Group Captain Anil Ambatkar, Vishist Sewa Medal (Veteran), a Senior Member of Rotary Club of Nagpur Fort was the Chief Guest for the event. The Judges for the competition were Professor of Psychology, Binzani Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Dr. Amar Damle, Former Professor of Textile Engineering, Dr. Shrikant Gadge, and Professor of English, R.S.Mundle Dharampeth Arts and Commerce College, Dr. Manjushree Sardeshpande,

The winners of the competition: First Prize was bagged by Bhagyashri Wahile from Rotaract Club of Ramdeobaba College of Engineering & Management (RCOEM affiliated to Rotary Club of Nagpur Mihan Town), Second Prize went to Sakshi Arya from Rotaract Club of Law College (affiliated to Rotary Club of Nagpur South) and Third Prize to Anirban Mukherjee, Rotaract Club of DRBSM (affiliated to Rotary Club of Nagpur South East). The Trophy for the winning team was claimed by Rotaract Club of RCOEM comprising of Bhagyashree Wahile and Ashwini Pardhi.

“STATESMAN-19” proved to be a path-breaking success owing to the support extended by Rtn. Col. Mukesh Shahare, President RCNS, Rtn (PP) Dr Vinayak Deshpande, Rtn Dr Mohan Kashikar, rtann Dr Sneha Deshpande, Rtn Vijay Sontakke, Rtn Vivek Garge, Secretary, Rtn (PP) Sanjay Tatwawadi, Rtn (PP) Satish Raipure, , Rtn Dr.Abhishek Vaidya, Rtn (IPP) Amit Gokhale, Rtn.Sanjay Dhawad, Rtn Ajay Gokhale, Rtn Dr. Sudhir Manglurkar, Rtn Vijaya Shahare,  rtann Mrinmayee Kukday, rtann Neelam Deshpande, rtann Sonali Pathak, rtann Varsha Tatwawadi, rtann Vanashree Garge, rtann Yashodhara Sohoni, rtann Ranjana Dhawad and rtann Aruna Kothe.
