HACKS TO BOOK CHEAP FLIGHTS- INTERNATIONAL AND DOMESTIC

HACKS TO BOOK CHEAP FLIGHTS- INTERNATIONAL AND DOMESTIC

Summer being at its peak, the best temporary respite one can think of is through travel. Whether you are flying domestic or international, air bookings is a ginormous task and getting the best deals is even more strenuous. Factors like, dates, times, prices, fare class; airlines etc. have to be carefully considered.

The only and the ubiquitous constraint however, is that no website consistently has the lowest prices. Most travel agencies provide you with a ball park figure, but not all offer the same benefits or search functionality.

More often than not, booking directly through airline’s website will give you the best price or will be at par with the online travel agencies (OTA). In order to book through airline’s website, you first need to know which airline offers the best rates.

There are lots of travel search engines and online travel agencies (OTA) that can help you find the most lucrative and best deals, so you would know which airline’s website to visit. Some online travel agencies (OTA) may offer some perks or special deals that might make it worth booking someplace other than the airline’s website.

  • Book Early

This one is a no-brainer but there’s no better way to get a cheaper flight ticket than to plan your travel well in advance and book your tickets ahead of time. Booking early has always proved to be a good idea and the best way to get discounted airfares.

  • Use Flight Comparison Websites

This one’s a very handy advice. You must always use a couple of flight comparison websites before you book your flight tickets, no matter how much time you’ll need to do the research, which you’ll realize really helped you in the long run. There are many websites that provide a detailed listing of flights to your desired destination along with the comparative prices and airfares offered by different airlines. TIP– Instead of selecting a specific date for your departure- select the entire month to know which is the cheapest time to book the tickets and fly.

  • Use Incognito Mode

To avoid seeing a raised airfare while visiting a flight booking website, use a private browsing mode or the popular incognito mode in Chrome browsers. Every time you visit these flight booking portals, your cookies and server details are recorded with these portals, so the moment the system reads that you are visiting the website for the second time the next day or after a few days, it is bound to give you raised and hiked up airfares. In case, you’re using the browser in the normal mode, make sure you clear the cookies or simply open the website from a different browser or a different computer.

  • Don’t Book On The Weekend

Booking flights on the weekend is not a good idea. Airfares usually go up starting Fridays and start plummeting on a Tuesday. The best days to book flights at great price are Wednesdays and Thursdays.

So, all you globetrotters- we are sure these tips will not only make your pre-travel experience good, it’ll also make your upcoming vacation the most memorable one too. Happy Globetrotting!

So, there you have it. I’m sure this list will not only save you some moolah, it will also save you a lot of time, energy and other resources. Check your calendar, zero in on a country or a city, book your tickets and summer away to your next destination.
