Ritika-Simran duo enters semis, Malvika out

Shruti claims women singles title - The Live Nagpur

Ritika Thaker and her Mumbai partner Simran Singhi entered the women doubles semis whereas Malvika Bansod crashed out in the singles in the Yonex-Sunrise All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament at Bengalore on Saturday.

In the doubles quarterfinal,the city girl, in company of Mumbai’s Simran, staged an upset. The fifth seed Nagpur-Mumbai pair stunned BV Ramya Tulsi-Diksha Choudhary 21-16, 24-26, 21-7 in the quarterfinal.

In the singles Malvika’s challenge came to an end as she lost to Shikha Gauttham 18-21, 22-20, 13-21 in 1.13 hours marathon battle.
