Aditya, Aastha emerge U-11 chess champs

Aditya Bodkhe and Aastha Turankar emerged champions in the Nagpur District U-11 Open and Girls Selection Chess Tournament at the Dhanwate National College Indoor Hall here on Sunday.

Aditya who remained undefeated in the tournament scored maximum seven points to his credit. In the final round, he defeated Jayesh Sure in the seventh and final round.
Adityasing Bhange achieved second place with six points whereas Saksham Singh finished third with 5.5 points.

In the girls category, Aastha secured 5.5 points. She thumped Shraddha Bajaj in the sixth and last round. Yashika Chandankhede (5) and Mrunal Kokate (4.5) finished second and third respectively.

The prizes were distributed by NDCA secretary Kalyan Barat, organising secretary Umesh Panbude and Pravin Pantawane.

U-11 girls: 1. Aastha Turankar (5.5, 19), 2. Yashika Chandankhede (5, 16), 3. Mrunal Kokate (4.5, 11.50), 4. Avantika Ghosh (4, 13), 5. Tejaswi Bhosale (4, 13), 6. Shraddha Bajaj (4, 10.50), 7. Vidhi Mishrikotkar (4, 10.50), 8. Yashaswi Bhosale (3.5, 11.25), 9. Vritika Game (3.5, 10.50), 10. Lakshita Rathod (3.5, 8.75).

U-11Open: 1. Aditya Bodkhe (7, 30), 2. Adityasing Bhange (6, 33.50), 3. Saksham Singh (5.5, 28), 4. Krupal Wanjari (5, 33), 5. Ayush Ramteke (5, 31.50), 6. Abhijit Ranade (5, 30), 7. Sarth Padgham (5, 28.50), 8. Jayesh Sure (5, 28), 9. Addhyay Damke (5, 24.50), 10. Malay Pandit (4.5, 29.50).
