Metro Rail Security Commissioner (CMRS) along with his team conducted inspection of Maha Metro Nagpur Project on June 19 and 20. After the inspection of the Metro and its subsequent report by CMRS, the movement on the Up track will now start passenger service.
The train movement has already started on the Down track between Khapri Metro Station and Sitaburdi Interchange Station. Now after getting clearance for the up-track, both up and down routes will start serving the Nagpurians soon.
According to sources, CMRS first visited the depot of Mihan where he checked all the documents and inspected the rolling stock. Then the team inspected Metro’s Emergency Front Door Evacuation, and all coach safety-related equipment, Airport South Metro Station and Interchange Metro Station respectively.
Nagpur Metro Managing Director Dr. Brijesh Dixit along with his team provided detailed information about the Nagpur Metro project to the official’s team led by CMRS Janak Kumar Garg. Earlier, audio visual presentation was presented by Metro officials.
During the two-day inspection, CMRS reviewed the Metro station construction work, passenger service, Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates, fire extinguisher, escalators, elevators, electric equipment, telecom, emergency machinery and all other utility facilities installed at the stations.
The CMRS team traveled from Interchange Station to Khapri Metro station. Officers conducted inspection of equipment related to passengers’ safety, breaks, seating arrangements, digital screens, exit gates, and other equipment installed on the train.
For the entire inspection, Maha Metro Nagpur Project Director, Mahesh Kumar, Director (Rolling Stocks & Systems) Sunil Mathur, Executive Director (Senior Chief Project Officer) Devendra Ramtekkar, V K Agarwal, Sudhakar Urade, Gurbani, General Manager (Administration) Anil Kokate and other senior officials were present.
