To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Sanskar Kathak Kendra, founder Priyanka Abhyankar organised a 7 days Kathak workshop recently.
The kathak workshop was conducted under the guidance of Subhash Chandra, a renowned Kathak dancer from Lucknow Gharana and presently working at Kathak Kendra, Delhi.
Chandra is well trained Kathak dancer, under the guidance of Guru Mohan Krishna, late Guru Mohan Rao Kalyanpurkar and late Pt. Munna Shuklaji and is specially known for his graceful presentation of Aang Bhaav/ postures.
He came down from Delhi to Nagpur for the workshop at Priyanka Abhyankar’s Sanskar Kathak Kendra to spread the beauty and grace of Kathak.
The Shishyas of Sanskar Kathak Kendra assembled for a duration of 3 hours for 7 days, starting from at Siddharudh Shiv Mandir, Ram nagar.
Through this workshop the students not just learnt technical and bhaav compositions, but they were also able grasp how to utilize Aangik bhaav while performing.
At the end of those eye opening 7 days, Sanskar Kathak Kendra put up a small presentation to pay their gratitude for their Guru Priyanka Abhyankar and Guru Subhash Chandra.
The guest of honour on the ‘Samapan Samaroh’ were Deepa Biswas and Chandrakant Gharote.
Sanskar Kathak Kendra students are delighted to have received this opportunity and have surely taken a step ahead in the world of Kathak through this workshop. Ecstatic about the success of the workshop, the institute has decided to make it an annual affair.
