It’s been around 3 months that residents of Bharat Van are pulling out all the stops to stop the making of unnecessary road through Bharat van by organising various events, workshops, brainstorming session etc. Bharat van witnessed a lot of events in the past few months like seed ball making workshop, yoga sessions, open mics, birdwatching, nature trail, meditation etc. All these events were done to gather public support to fuel this mass movement of change.

This Sunday morning at Bharat van started off with a very peaceful flute meditation session by Mr Margesh Sapate under the green canopy of chikoo trees. This was followed by a yoga session by Jay Shukla. Bharat van kept its 4th open mic which was contributed by artist of various art forms such as poetry, stand-up comedy, rap.

Manoj Jain, a renowned stand-up comedian of the city took audience to 2030 and told them if we go on with cutting of trees, we will be facing a lot of problems.  Mohit Gurbani along with Ishawari on keyboard presented a rap song for the protection of Bharat van.

This time Bharat van introduced a new activity of organizing Nagpur Book Reading Club’s (NBRC) monthly meet. NBRC held its monthly meet at Bharat van under the green canopy of chikoo trees and the theme of this meet was kept on nature. Everyone shared their knowledge about the books which they brought on nature. Dr Tejinder Singh Rawal reviewed a book  “The Fall of Sparrow” by Dr. Salim Ali. A lot of books by Ruskin Bond were also discussed briefly as we all know Ruskin Bond himself is a nature lover and  is known for keeping a diluted taste of nature in most of his books. Sameer Gangakhedkar read out a beautiful poetry about Baya weaver bird.

The event was conceptualized by Dr. Abheek Ghosh and supported by Abhishek Paliwal, Anurag Tiwari, Raksha Purohit, Shuchi Purohit and Bharat Nagar residents. Bharat Nagar residents have asked Nagpurkars to visit Bharatvan for morning walks and Yoga which are done daily.
