DMIMS (du) inks MoU with HCG NCHRI cancer centre, Nagpur

A MOU in the domain of  ‘Ontological Sciences’ was solemnized between Datta Meghe Institute of Medical sciences (Deemed to be University) and HCG NCHRI Cancer Centre Nagpur in a formal ceremony held at the University’s Board Room at Nagpur on July 27, 2019.  The broad objectives of the MOU are as under:

  • a)DMIMS (DU) and HCG NCHRI will encourage direct contact and cooperation between faculty members, staff and students of the constituent colleges of DMIMS (DU) and HCG NCHRI.
  • b)To Exchange of invitations of lectures, seminars, workshops, conferences, symposia and other academic programmes.
  • c)To Exchange of faculty members and students for study and teaching and research.
  • d)To start joint research activities, publications, library and data exchange.
  • e)Any other specific academic activity related with study, teaching and research designed and mutually agreed between the parties.

HCG NCHRI Cancer Centre, Nagpur, is one of the leading centres catering to provide high end Oncology services under one roof and is benefiting the population of the region through their expertise and state of art infrastructure.

With them joining hands, the DMIMS (DU) which is the leading health Science University of the region, will cater to a growth of academic and research output in the area of Oncology and will mutually benefit both the partners.

The Post Graduate Students of the university will be able to gain rich experience in this field through elective postings in this specialty and the university would also be able to utilize the expertise of the stakeholders of HCG NCHRI Cancer Centre by way of designating them as Adjunct Faculty and also by sharing their knowledge through other teaching learning modalities.

In the formal ceremony which was presided over by Dr. Vedprakash Mishra, Pro Chancellor, in the presence of Dr. Rajiv M. Borle, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Neelam Mishra, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Minal Choudhary, Director  Examinations, Assessment and Evaluation, Shri Ravi Meghe, Director (Personnel & Planning); Shri Rajiv Yashroy, Director, Strategic planning,  the MOUs signed and exchanged between Dr. Rajiv Borle on behalf of the University and Dr. Ajay Mehta  Director on behalf of HCG NCHRI Cancer Centre, Nagpur.

In his prologue Dr. Mishra expressed his happiness on this occasion and pointed out that this MOU is the need of the hour and will bring meaningful and purposeful results for the population of this region as trained health care providers in the field of Oncology which is highly lacking and this partnership would help in creating a new Centre of excellence in the region.

He lauded the efforts of both Dr. Rajiv Borle and his team and also Dr. Ajay Mehta and his team for discussing and formalizing this MOU and advised that this MOU should be monitored in a structured manner with definite targets which is to be actualized in a defined time frame so that the desired results are achieved.   He wished this partnership a great success and congratulated Dr. Ajay Mehta on behalf of the University for the initiative.
