State Inter-School Swimming Competition from Oct 14 | Nagpur News

The Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, District Sports Council and District Sports Office are jointly organizing State Inter-School Swimming and Sepaktakraw Championships in the city.

DSO Avinash Pund informed that swimming competition in Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 categories for boys and girls will begin on October 14 at NIT Swimming Pool. He said around 1200 swimmers from Nagpur, Amravati, Aurangabad, Latur, Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Kolhapur and Kridapeet will vie for the top honours.

District collector Ravindra Thakur and joint director of sports Dr Jaiprakash Duble will grace the inaugural function on October 14 at 10 a.m. During the championship, the State team will be selected for the nationals to be held at Delhi from November 12 to 18.

Pund said the sepaktakraw competition in Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 sections for the boys and girls will be held on October 15 and 16 at Divisional Sports Complex, Mankapur.
Around 800 players from nine divisions are expected to participate in the tournament. He said for the first time the tournament will be organized at indoor hall of Divisional Sports Complex.
