“Chartered Accountants carry the baton at Financial Frontiers” – CA Jaydeep Shah, Past President, ICAI

‘Ek Shaam Desh Ke Naam’- an ode to our Motherland was organized by the Nagpur Branch of ICAI and Nagpur Branch of WICASA recently at Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Memorial Hall, Nagpur, to celebrate the struggle of the brave hearts who won independence for their country by sacrificing their lives.

“Chartered Accountants are the backbone of Indian Economy” remarked, CA Jaydeep Shah, Past President, ICAI while speaking as a Chief Guest on the occasion. While addressing a gathering of young CA Students whom he addressed as Future Chartered Accountants, he said the growth of our country depends on the dynamism, energy, patriotism and zeal of youngsters.

While explaining the sacrifices of our soldiers for our motherland at frontiers of our country, he mentioned that even Chartered Accountants carry the baton at financial frontiers. He motivated the students- the upcoming professionals, to practice ethically with utmost sincerity and honesty. He also encouraged them to be the torchbearers of development of their homeland by pursuing their careers in their own country rather than moving abroad.

Mr. Shah congratulated the students on recognizing themselves with their country and motivated them to express their patriotism by contributing to the development of their country. He also encouraged the Nagpur Branch of WICASA to continue to organize such events, thereby making the students feel responsible towards their country in the early stage of their chosen profession.

Suren Duragkar, Chairman of Nagpur Branch of ICAI stated that ‘Our country, with its rich culture and heritage, arts and sciences, languages and scriptures has triumphed even after facing innumerable perils. We all are indebted to the brave hearts who gave their lives for our country and we can only repay them by promising ourselves to work every day for our country and contributing to its development in every way possible for us.’. He appreciated team WICASA for such a well-organized celebration which displayed the vibrance of our country’s dances, the wonderful melody of our folk lore and the astounding stories of our Indian history.

The crowd was motivated by the encouraging words of WICASA Chairman, CA Sanjay M. Agrawal who urged the students to understand the hidden potential in them and work for the betterment of our motherland. It’s not essential that you can serve your country only as a soldier; you can contribute your bit by following cleanliness, obeying traffic rules, not indulging in quarrels, honouring your parents and following ethical practices, CA Sanjay Agrawal remarked. He expressed the desire of the students to bring out the true patriot in them and explained how this celebration of “Ek Shaam Desh Ke Naam” provided them with a fuel to flame their sense of responsibility towards their country.

The event was decorated with performances by CA Students in the form of dance, singing and drama which was appreciated by all.

The event also witnessed the presence of CA Kirit Kalyani, Vice Chairman, CA Saket Bagdia, Secretary, CA Jiten Saglani, Treasurer, CA Akshay Gulhane & CA Harish Rangwani, Executive Members, Members of WICASA Committee comprising of Vice Chairman- Ayush Gupta, Secretary- Aditi Pacheriwala, Joint Secretary- Riddhi Kothari, Treasurer- Vaidik Sakoniya, Joint Editors- Ayushi Agrawal and Krunal Dhabale and Executive Member R.
