Tips for healthy eating is important to care for diet & fitness during Diwali

Diwali is a festival of not just lights but delights as well. With the Indian festivals being incomplete without the usual fanfare and good food it becomes important to care for diet & fitness during the joyous holiday.

# Alternative snacking –

Exchange of sweets is a major part of Diwali celebrations. Try to opt for low sugar sweets or dry fruits. Opting for baked food items than fried ones will also be a healthy choice.

# Go “home-made” –

The key to health is saying yes to homemade recipes. Opting for homemade recipes helps to avoid the unhygienic conditions of commercial kitchens and also help to control the amount of fats and sugar being used.

# Portion control –

Practising portion control can help you to enjoy the Diwali delicacies without guilt and also keep the calories in check.

# Hydration –

Water is essential for vital processes like digestion. Staying hydrated with water, coconut water or lime water will help to flush out toxins and help to keep you energetic to enjoy the celebrations.

# Exercise –

If it’s not possible to follow your regular exercise routine, squeeze in stretching, walking or yoga sessions in the festival days.

Taking care of your health will double your joy…
