The Shiv Sena on Saturday approached the Supreme Court challenging Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari’s decision for installing a minority BJP government led by Devendra Fadnavis in Maharashtra.
“The Petitioners are constrained to move the instant Writ Petition under Article 32 of the Constitution in grave urgency seeking reliefs against the “arbitrary and malafide” actions of the Honourable Governor of Maharashtra who has installed a minority BJP government led by Shri Devendra Fadnavis,” read the writ petition filed by Sena’s lawyers.
The development came as NCP MLA Dhananjay Munde, considered to be a close aide of Ajit Pawar, arrived for the meeting of party MLAs at YV Chavan Centre in Mumbai.
The NCP will take stock of the situation hours after Ajit Pawar was sworn in as the deputy chief minister and Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister.
The state woke up in shock when Devendra Fadnavis took an oath as Chief Minister of Maharashtra with Ajit Pawar as Deputy Minister of Maharashtra at 8 am on Saturday.
