The civic administration of city is taking all the measures to make the Nagpur city garbage free. After Nagpur Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, Now Chairman of Health Committee of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Virendra Kukreja, Mayor Sandip Joshi, Deputy Mayor Manisha Kothe has too decided to take stringent efforts for the purpose.
Bangar has asked the new garbage lifting agencies to take night rounds too, so that morning walkers should have fresh air, without dirt. Kukreja appealed people to handover the domestic waste in wet and dry forms separately. Now the garbage is picked up door to door once and from the public places twice. This is helping in city looking clean. The vehicle that comes home plays one musical jingle also instead of that harsh whistle used by Kanak. Every Zone is provided with one vehicle that lifts the garbage during night hours especially from outside the hotel.
Toll free numbers for complaints NMC has urged people to call on toll free numbers if they notice garbage lying anywhere in the city or not getting lifted by the agencies. The numbers are — For Zones Laxmi Nagar, Dharampeth, Hanuman Nagar, Dhantoli, Nehru Nagar the number is — 18002677966. For zones Gandhibag, Satranjipura, Lakadganj, Asinagar, Mangalwari, the number is 18602662990.
