Ravati shocks Top seed Thaniya 

The day turned out unlucky for top seed Thaniya G of Telangana as she who crashed out in the singles quarters in MSLTA-NDHTA Super Series Tennis Tournament at Ram Nagar court on Monday. In a major set back seventh seed Revati M of Tamil Nadu shocked her 6-1. 6-3 to enter the semis.

. In the other upset fourth seed Aakruti Sonkusre from Maharashtra lost to Hrishita Basireddy (S6) from Telangana in the QF. City favourite Sejal Bhutada (S8) gave a scare to Divya Ungrish (S2) from Delhi in a QF match that lasted three sets which were won by Divya.

In the boys singles, Vedant Bhasin (S1) from Delhi cruised into the semifinals while Aaradhaya (S5) took out Thirumurugan (S4) of Tamilnadu. In other matches, Samprit (S2) of Raipur and Tanussh (S3) of Bangalore cruised into the semifinals.In the Boys doubles QF top seed Vedant Bhasin and Samprit Sharma beat Punyawardhan and Alok in the quarters and also beat third seed Vivaan Karande and Rudra Batham in the semifinals.

Second seed Tanussh and Aaradhaya beat Avaneesh and Swaraj in the QF and overcame stiff resistance from  Yash Patel and Thirumurugan (S4) in the semifinals, thereby setting up a classic final with the top seed Vedant Bhasin and Samprit Sharma

In the girls doubles QF, Divya and Aakruti (S1) beat Jhanvi and Prachi to make it to the semifinals while Thaniya G and Hansika Reddy (S4) beat Princy and Revathi. In the other matches, Sejal and Anandi (S3) beat Mehak and Bhakti to come into the semifinal round while Pehal Kharadkar and Arya Borkar upset second seed Nainika Reddy and Hrishita in a marathon QF lasting three sets.

U-12 girls singles QF Revathi M (S7) beat Thaniya G (S1) 6-1, 6-3; Nainika Reddy 9S3) beat Anandi Bhuthada (S5) 6-2, 6-2; Hrishita Basireddy (S6) beat Aakruti Sonkusre (S4) 6-2, 1-6, 6-1; Divya Ungrish (S2) beat Sejal Bhutada (S8) 6-1, 2-6, 6-4

Boys doubles QF: Vedant and Samprit (S1) beat Ambade and Mishra 6-0, 6-0

Vivaan and Rudra (S3) beat Vishesh and Krishnansh 6-0, 6-1; V Thirumurugan and Yash Patel (S4) beat Rahul and Amogh 6-2, 7-5; Tanussh and Aradhaya beat Avneesh and Swaraj 6-2, 6-3

Boys doubles – semi finals: Vedant and Samprit (S1) beat Vivaan and Rudra (S3) 6-0, 6-1; Tanussh and Aradhaya (S2) beat Thirumurugan and Yash Patel (S4) 6-2, 7-5

Girls doubles – OF: Divya and Aakruti (S1) beat Jhanvi and Prachi 6-2, 6-3

Hansika and Thaniya (S4) beat Princy and Revathi 6-2, 6-2; Sejal and Anandi (S3) beat Mehak and Bhakti 6-0, 6-1; Nainika and Hrishita (S2) lost to Arya and Pehal 6-1, 5-7, 10-2
