Saraogi, Wanjari emerge joint leaders

Two players Vivaan Saraogi and Krupal Wanjari emerged joint leaders at the end of the sixth round of S. N. Shrivastava & Kalavatidevi Shrivastava Memorial Nagpur District Open Selection Chess Championship – 2019 organised by Nagpur District Chess Association (NDCA) at DNC indoor sports complex, here on Saturday.

With three rounds to go the battle for supremacy has started. On top board Saraogi outclassed Nilay Kulkarni. On second board Wanjari got the better of Atharva Bhajne.

Both Saraogi and Wanjari were followed by Nilay Kulkarni, Prerak Darvekar, Dishank Bajaj, Dinesh Tirpude, Rutvik Palaskar, Shamsunndar Borkar with five points each.

Kulkarni Nilay (5) lost to Vivaan Vijay Saraogi (6), Bhajne Atharva (4.5) lost to Wanjari Krupal (6), Prerak Jayant Darvekar (5) bt Sarth Sachin Padghan (4.5), Nachankar Harsh (4) lost to Dishank Sachin Bajaj (5), Dinesh Tirpude (5) bt Dande Vyankatesh (4), Palaskar Rutwik (5) bt Bajaj Shraddha (4), Borkar Shyamsundar (5) bt Gaigore Sanskar (4), Abhir Sandeep Dhote (4.5) drew with Borkar B C (4.5), Sawalakhe Jay (4.5) bt Kumbhalkar Sparsh (4), Machave Prathamesh (3.5) lost to Vinay  Barhanpure (4.5).
