Ex-students of SFS old Boys begins Inter Batch Cricket Tournament

SFS School Old Boys Association begins an Inter Batch Cricket Tournament on December 22. The tournament was inaugurated by the hands of President of Association Arunpal Singh Behal, in the presence of secretary and Treasurer Lijo Jose and Santosh George along with Executive member Nitin Datar.

Cricket Committee Chairman of SFS OBA Navneet Bhandari performed the inaugural pooja with the Committee members Manpreet Singh Anand, Gladwyn Francys, Praveen Jambhulkar, Harish Gehani, Vaibhav Verma and Kumar Gangwani. It is one of the unique events of SFS OBA in which ex students of various batches participate.The batches of the year 1983, of class 10th pass out and the youngest 2015 pass out are taking participate in the cricket tournament. The Cricket Enthusiasm of the ex students can be gauged out that about 18 teams all of different batches and different ages are participating this time. The juniors and seniors come together and old memories are shared together.

Arunpal Singh Behal the President of SFS OBA stated that ” Our Association is the only association in Central India which organises such inter batch Cricket Tournament of ex students on a grand scale” he further stated that, “the tournament is a perfect example of brotherhood among the ex students”.The teams participating this year are of batch 1983/1985 led by Thakur Jaswani, 1987 led by Naim Razzaque, 1991- Rohit Naidu, 1993/1994-Owais Mohd, 1995- Manpreet Anand, 1996- Dr. Shiraz Khan, 2000-Francis Karayil, 2001-Hassan Vakhariya, 2002-Manpreet Bhudhraja, 2003-Robin Pillay, 2004-Harish Gihani, 2005-Sameed Khan, 2006-Karan Wadhwa, 2007-Akib Ghanchi, 2009-Ziahan Siddique, 2010-Vaibhav Verma, 2012-Nabeel Khan & 2015 led by Owais Khan respectively.

The batches are divided in 4 groups and about 39 matches will be played, each match will be of 8 overs. Secretary Lijo Jose stated “that the tournament is like a festival where every Sunday about 100 players play various matches  and 500 ex students are present to watch them playing.” Various Prizes like Rolling and Take away Winner and Runner Trophies, Best batsman, Best Bowler, Best Fielder, Best Disciplined Team, Man of the Matches, Catches of matches awards will be distributed.
