On the second day of National Traders Convention of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) Finance Minister Mrs Nirmala Sitharaman assured the trading community that Government is making all attempts to simplify and rationalise the GST tax structure to the extent that even an ordinary trader can comply with the provisions of GST. Thousands of traders from all States of the Country are attending three days Convention of CAIT.

Tomorrow there will be a Halla Bol on e commerce companies and more than 20 thousand traders are expected to attend the convention across Country. While addressing the traders Mrs Sitharaman lauded the role of trading community for enhancing the tax data of GST. CAIT Secretary General Mr Praveen Khandelwal assured Mrs Sitharaman that CAIT has set an object of enhancing the traders registered under GST to 2 crore. Mrs Sitharaman said that under the chairmanship of Revenue Secretary a Committee has been constituted which is working day night to ex-plore the ways and means to simplify GST.

Mrs Sitharaman said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has kept trading community on his priority and in pursuance of the same various announcements and decisions have been made by the Government to facilitate the traders for doing more business. She said that her ministry is seized of the problems being faced by traders in taxation system and to encourage better and smooth compliance, the Government will not leave any stone unturned in providing maximum relief to the traders. She said that traders are the revenue earners of the Govt and no prudent Government will like to annoy the revenue vertical. However the traders have to bring their business into system and modernise their existing business format.
