There are several progressive and developmental move that are going in the Nagpur city that will definitely transform it into a smart one. However, there are many other elements that create adverse effect on it.Yes,the encroachment on the roads is one such problem that absolutely create nuisance. To prevent and control this menace, the civic administration of the city has commenced an anti-encroachment drive recently. And the Anti-Encroachment Committee has presented its report to the Mayor.

According to the report, if the goods of the encroachers will be seized and will not be returned back if the encroachment is repeated. And the shop keepers will be charged the fine of Rs.5000 and the shop license will be cancelled if the same thing repeated.

Apart from this, the shop keepers have to give a written confirmation on a bond paper of Rs.100 for not repeating the offence. And the goods will not be returned if the offence is repeated. The Anti-Encroachment Committee recommended seizing goods of encroachers on footpaths. The encroachers will have to pay fine of Rs.1000 for releasing seized goods for the first time. And for the second time the offenders have to pay Rs.3000.And for the third time; they will not get their goods in return.

As per information, the special squad will be formed to keep a check on it and for taking action during night. The committee has also directed the traffic department to take action against these vehicle owners those illegally park their vehicles on school playgrounds and sports grounds. And the committee has also recommended a video shooting of the hawkers and set up different anti-encroachment squads in each zone. If the vehicles parked near critical places will face police action and seizure under IPC section 283.

The civic body of Nagpur had recently formed an Anti-encroachment committee to study and find solutions for the increased encroachment in city.
