A recent survey about the Aapli Bus revealed that it really lack enough takers on 27 routes as these routes generate less than 10 % of what the civic body of Nagpur spends per bus per day.Aapli bus in complete sense a boon to commuters of the city and there are five exclusive electric buses for women only in reasonable fares.
Recently the civic chief directed the DIMTS for the survey. And after the analysis of the duty-wise earning on these routes, it came to limelight that 27 routes income is less than 10%.The survey also revealed that during the peak hours the buses are running half occupied. The survey pointed out different routes in city which are really generating low income.
As per information, the bus services between Medical Square and Lalganj-Raut Nagar generates the lowest revenue per day. And the use of private vehicles is the prominent reason behind the meagre turn out of income. The people should utilise the public transport for the development of the city. The NMC may shut those services which are really not giving good response.
At present around 1.50 lakh passengers commute in 370 Aapli buses plying on 115 different routes. And it is high time to take serious measures regarding the issue.
