Mishra guides Lokmat into big win

Riding on Sharad Mishra’s explosive knock of 68 runs, last year’s runners-up Lokmat drubbed Deshonnati by seven wickets in OCW-SJAN 22nd Inter-Press Cricket Tournament organised by Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur (SJAN) at Vasant Nagar ground here on Friday.

The tournament has been organised in association with OCW, SBI and HCL Technologies. Batting first Deshonnati scored 128 for 5 in 20 overs. Kartik Sahare top scored with 50. Sandeep Ganar (22) and Sandeep Dhamde (17) were other scorers. For Lokmat Pravin Lokhande claimed two wickets for 22 runs.

In reply, Sharad Mishra slammed 38-ball 68 with the help of 11 boundaries and one six. He was well supported by Nitin Pataria (38) and Pravin Lokhande (12) NDBA vice-president CA Amit Bajaj handed over man-of-the-match prize to Sharad Mishra.On Saturday the Super Six match will be played between The Hitavada and Deshonnati at Ambedkar College ground at 9 a.m.

Deshonnati: 128 for 5 in 20 overs (Kartik Sahare 50, Sadeep Ganar 22, Sandeep Dhamde 17, Satish Kanchankar 13, Pravin Lokhande 2 for 22, Sachin Khadke and Nitin Shriwas one each)

Lokmat: 130 for 3 in 20 overs (Sharad Mishra 68, Nitin Pataria 38, Pravin Lokhande 12, Kartik Sahare 2 for 33)

Result: Lokmat won by seven wickets
