VIA Lady Entrepreneurs Wing organized an interactive session on â€œNew Budget-Women Entrepreneursâ€™ Perspective & government schemes for lady Entrepreneursâ€ by CA Julfesh Shah, a well known Practicing Chartered Accountant under the able leadership of Reeta Lanjewar, Chairperson – VIA LEW.
CA Julfesh Shah was Vice-Chairman WIRC, for the period 2014-15 (Highest Post of the region for any Non Metro Council Member) and he is Recently Nominated as Member of Committee on Management Accounting, ICAI New Delhi for the Year 2019-2020.
He shared the overview of the budget is most simple way and with Women Entrepreneursâ€™ perspective. As per CA Shah, the budget is very well drafted and he said, in this budget higher allocation is given to women centric schemes as compared to 2019 budget. The government allocates Rs. 28,600 cr for women centric programs in FY2021.
The comparative analysis of new Income Tax regime vs old IT regime was made simple with various illustrations as per the income slabs. He made it clear that once the businessperson selects the Tax regime, he/she cannot change it the next year.
In the second part of his session, CA Shah had thrown light on â€˜Maharashtra Woman Industrial Special Policy 2017â€™. He explained the prerequisites to take the benefits of this policy. Some of them are â€“ 100% ownership of Woman in the business, MSME Unit, Possession of land/shed/gala by the unit etc. He also explained Modalities of Special Woman Entrepreneurs policy.
While explaining the scheme, he said Capital Subsidy for New unit and Expansion of the existing unit is the most beneficial part of the scheme and in Vidarbha region, the capital subsidy is upto 25%.
He had also thrown light on other incentives under the special Policy like Power tariff Subsidy, Interest subsidy, Labour welfare Sahay, Scheme for growth of Marketing and promotional activity, incentives for participating in national and international exhibitions etc.
The Woman entrepreneur can apply for these schemes on MAITRY portal of Government of Maharashtra.
Shah gave brief about 9 loan schemes, which will give wings to women entrepreneurs. Some of these schemes are from government and some are offered by banks especially for women entrepreneurs. He very aptly covered the vast topic.
Shah also introduced the audience to â€˜The Women Entrepreneurship Platformâ€™ which is a Government of India initiative by NITI Aayog to promote and support aspiring as well as established women entrepreneurs in India, assist and handhold them in their journey from starting to scaling up and expanding their ventures. Under the new initiative of LEW â€˜Know your Businessâ€™ Sneha Trivedi introduced her business of Petrochemical Additives used in machines and in automobiles to the audience.
At the outset, Reeta Lanjewar, Chairperson – VIA LEW gave the opening remarks and welcomed the guests with plant sapling. An announcement of â€˜International Womenâ€™s day programâ€™ was made which will be held on March 6 at VIA. Sarla Kamdar, Founder Chairperson of VIA LEW presented memento to the guest.
