Revenue Loss,Civic Body to End Contract with DIMTS

It has been reported that the civic administration of the city may cease its contract with Delhi Integrated Multi-Model Transit System Limited (DIMTS) due to the decreasing revenue and poor performance. As per information, DIMTS was appointed to keep a check on black-marketing of the city bus tickets. On the contrary, the company failed to deliver good results.

Earlier, NMC had sent notice to the company regarding the pathetic performance. And even after spending huge funds on the company the transport department is not getting desired revenue.Due to this, the civic administration is planning to end the contract with the company.

As per information, DIMTS is responsible for appointing ticket checkers and ticket checking at buses. The conductors and drivers fraud has become a headache for civic body and reportedly facing Rs.6 crore losses every month. And it has been learnt that the lack of management of the company is also a reason for the mess. It was found that 12 to 15 employees of the company were involved in the ticket black marketing. The number of monthly pass holders is high in the city buses. The company has allotted smart cards to pass the holders. But recently in a raid the transport department team exposed that many pass holders were travelling by the buses even after expiry of the smart cards.

The city bus services should complement with the Metro service in order to improve the overall public transport. And this objective can be achieved only after the city bus service recovers from the losses.
