Indian Gymkhana Guzder League “A” div champion Indian 

Gymkhana recorded eight-wicket victory over Navniketan Cricket Club to win Guzder League “A” Division cricket Tournament organised by Vidarbha Cricket Association at VCA Kalamna ground. After dismissing Navniketan at 130 in the first innings, Indian Gymkhana scored 268 runs and thus took the lead of  138 runs.

In their second innings, Navniketan improved their performance and scored 242 runs and put on a target of 104 runs. In reply, Indian Gymkhana easily achieved the target and scored required runs losing only two wickets in 32 overs. Vidarbha opener R Sanjay slammed a 59-ball 51 in Indian Gymkhana’s chase. His knock had eight boundaries.

Captain Azhar Sheikh remained unbeaten with 34 runs from 35 deliveries with five balls to the fence and one over it.

Earlier, Navniketan Cricket Club scored 242 runs in their second innings with wicketkeeper-batsman Akshay Wadkar scoring highest 74 runs which were laced with seven boundaries and three sixes. Varun Paldunkar scored 59 while captain Suniket Bingewar added 24.

For Indian Gymkhana, Raj Chaudhary was the most successful bowler with a match haul of eight wickets. Vidarbha pacer Rajneesh Gurbani finished with five scalps while Siddhesh Neral took four wickets in the match.

The winning team: Indian Gymkhana: R Sanjay, Piyush Fulsunge, Amit Paunikar, Azhar Shaikh (c), Neel Athalay, Vivek Naidu, Himanshu Joshi, Raj Chaudhary, Rajneesh Gurbani, Mohit, Siddhesh Neral.
