Paucity of Funds,MSRTC Faces Financial Challenge,Salaries of Employees Pending

The nation is currently facing the big challenge of coronavirus pandemic. To contain the deadly virus the government has declared a complete lockdown across the nation. Amid this crisis, due to unavailability of funds, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation is facing another challenge in the form of pending salaries of employees.

As per information, the salaries of around 1lakh MSRTC employees are pending as the corporation has declared that it has no funds to pay their salaries. In this difficult situation, MSRTC is expecting help from the government. The employees’ salaries under the divisional office of the corporation were paid on the 1st. The remaining 9 per cent monitored on the 7th. Drivers, carriers, mechanical workers, some deposits are paid by the employees, in some places the salary is paid from the central office. The central office directs to reserve money for salary. But this time there was no money.

There is uncertainty to when and how much government money will come for paying the salaries of the employees, because currently the government is engaged in dealing with COVID-19 pandemic. Salary will be allotted only after the funds have been deposited, however. In the next two days salaries of the workers will be paid, senior official said.

The employees are already dissatisfied with the crisis. Now it is necessary to take some steps in financial planning to handle the situation.
