CIL Chief Appeals Workers to resume their work

Coal India Limited, Chairman Pramod Agrawal has called upon CIL Workers to resume their works. He said that Central Trade Unions have called for strike in Coal Sector from 2nd to 4th July 2020. He said that some workers have expressed their perceived cause of concern, over commercial mining, through a protest by staying away from the work.

Agrawal said that  Minister of Coal and Secretary (Coal) while addressing the Charter of Demands have reassured that there was no question of privatisation of Coal India or demerger of CMPDIL from CIL. Also, no coal block of CIL would be given away for commercial coal mining. CIL Chief assured that there would be no adverse effect on the present or future employment on this occasion. The government of India has been increasing CIL’s coal resource base by the allocation of blocks to strengthen its role.

He said that considering the COVID situation in the country and the international scenario, Coal India’s role assumes all the more importance. He called upon the workers to resume their duties in the larger interest of the nation.
