The investigation into the alleged murder of Ketan Agarwal has taken a new turn, with the parents of prime accused Siya Goyal expressing grief over the incident, extending condolences to the victim’s family, and stating that anyone found guilty—including their daughter—should face the strictest punishment.
Speaking on the case, Siya’s father, Praveen Goyal, said he was deeply saddened by Ketan’s death and described the loss as unimaginable for his family. “What happened is extremely tragic. I still can’t believe it. They have lost their son, and there can be no greater sorrow for a parent. I had immense affection for Ketan and was very attached to him. He was a loving, talented and kind-hearted boy. Just a few days ago, they celebrated Siya’s birthday and looked forward to a bright future,” he said.
Siya’s mother, Pooja Goyal, also expressed shock over the incident and said justice should be delivered irrespective of who is found responsible. “When I heard about the incident, I was devastated. I kept asking myself how something like this could happen. Ketan’s family has suffered an unimaginable loss, but I also feel the pain of two families being destroyed. Ketan was a wonderful person. If anyone is found guilty in this case, they deserve the harshest punishment, even if it is my daughter,” she said.
She further added, “If my daughter is found guilty, the person responsible should be thrown from the same place from which Ketan fell.” Meanwhile, the case has taken another turn after a security guard posted at Lohagad Fort near Pune recounted what he witnessed immediately after Ketan Agarwal’s fatal fall, which investigators now allege was a murder.
Security guard Dheeraj Jadhav said he rushed to the spot after hearing screams and found Siya Goyal calling for help. “I came running after hearing screams. I asked Siya what had happened, and she told me that someone had fallen from the fort. I immediately informed the police,” Jadhav said. According to him, Siya was repeatedly shouting, “Help, help.”
Jadhav also said the fort remains under round-the-clock security and that a police station is located nearby, though poor mobile network connectivity in the area can sometimes delay communication. Responding to questions about the incident, the guard said he was on duty when he heard the screams from a distance and immediately rushed to the location.
Siya Goyal and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, have been named as accused in the Ketan Agarwal murder case. Both are currently in police custody while the investigation continues.
