Strongly in support of Nagpur Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe on the backdrop of case filed against him, State Energy Minister and district Guardian Minister Dr. Nitin Raut said that the Bhartiya Janta Party is targeting him as they are scared of getting exposed.
Raut said, “ BJP is in power in NMC since last 15 years. And now they are scared their wrongdoings may be exposed. Hence, all the BJP leaders are worried about Mundhe exposing their scams and are therefore targeting him”.
“Mundhe is working honestly . Wherever he goes, using his administrative skills , he develops the region. He has never worked for personal benefits,”the minister said.
He further added that the Maha Vikas Aghadi government has specially appointed Mundhe for the development of the city.
“”Mayor Sandip Joshi has lodged a police complaint against municipal commissioner Tukaram Mundhe in the Smart City issue. And also Union minister Nitin Gadkari has complained to the Central government. But I believe that both the complants are baseless,” Nitin Raut said.
The guardian minister also said that the board of directors had the right to appoint chief executive officer (CEO). but Pravin Pardeshi is the chairman.
He had given the rights to the municipal commission sioner as a temporary arrangement. Hence, Mundhe is looking after the Smart City project.
“Proposal will have to be sent to the board of direc tors for appointment of CEO. After that appoint will be made after follow ing proper procedure, Raut said.
