Maharashtra Speaker: Expedite Disposal of Caste Scrutiny Cases of Students

Speaker of State Legislative Assembly Nana Patole held a meeting at Chief Minister’s Secretariat in the city on Friday and asked the officials concerned to expeditiously decide the students’ applications relating to caste scrutiny.Patole directed the officials that the caste certificates are necessary for students who have cleared Class X and Class XII examinations, to secure admissions in the next academic session.Hence, the Scheduled Tribes Caste Scrutiny Verification Committee should decide the applications on priority.

He chaired the meeting called to discuss the problems relating to issue of Govari (Gond Govari) tribe certificate. The officials concerned from Nagpur, Gadchiroli, and Amravati districts were present in the meeting. Patole said that the students were facing problems in obtaining the caste certificate during lockdown period. Considering this, the committee concerned should issue the certificates and ensure that the students did not suffer in convenience. He called for expediting verification and accelerates the disposal of complaints. Government has taken a decision to give relaxation during COVID-19 lockdown to Maratha, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Vimukta Jati, Nomadic Tribes students.
