Sumedh wins online rapid chess tournament

Sumedh Ramtek won the 3rd NDCA Online Rapid Chess Tournament conducted by Nagpur District Chess Association  through the platform of  “Lichess.org”.

While Sumedh Ramteke emerged winner with 7.5 point his younger brother Ayush finished runners-up. Both Ayush and Krishna Taori earned 6.5 points each. However on the basis of tie-breaker Ayush was declared runners-up. On his way to title, Sumedh defeated  veteran VK Shrivastava, Harsha Nachankar, Krishna Taori, Sanskar Gaigore, Ayush Ramteke, Jay Sawwalakhe and played a draw with Rutuj Shinde.

His brother Ayush outclassed Sadanand Mahajan, Pappu Singh, Rujul Shinde, Aastha Turankar,Himani Jethwani and Jay Sawwalakhe. He ost the sixth round to Sumedh and held Krishna Taori to a draw in next round. This tournament is conducted under the supervision of IA Swapnil Bansod, IA Pravin Pantawane and FA Umesh Panbude.

Final standings: 1. Sumedh Ramteke (7.5), 2 Ayush Ramteke (6.5,500), 3. Krishna Taori (6.5 400), 4. Aditya Bodkhe (6,300)
5. Rujul Shinde (6,200), 6. Aastha Turankar (5.5,150), 7 Sushant Jumde (5.5 150), 8. Jay Savalakhe (5, 150), 9 Samir Kalgaonkar(5, 150), 10. Harsh Nachankar (5,100)
